Class Trip/School Field Trips & Educational Farm Tours

Take learning outdoors at Bonnieheath Estate! Our working vineyard and lavender farm in Waterford, Norfolk County, offers a fun and educational field trip for schools, youth groups, homeschool families and community organizations.

Discover how lavender and grapes grow, why healthy soil matters, and how regenerative agriculture helps us care for the land.

What Will We Learn?

Our guided farm tour explores:

- Lavender & Pollinators: How lavender grows, why bees and butterflies matter, and how we use lavender from our fields.
- Grapes & Vineyards: How we grow wine grapes in Ontario and care for our vines throughout the seasons.
- Soil Health: The hidden world of beneficial bacteria, fungi and living organisms beneath our feet.
- Regenerative Agriculture: How we use compost teas, cover crops and natural farming practices to build healthier soil and avoid relying on pesticide sprays.
- Biodiversity: How plants, insects, birds and wildlife work together to create a healthy farm ecosystem.

How Your Visit Works

Your 75-minute visit begins at outside our Lavender Distillery, where one if our hosts will welcome your group.

We will lead a 15 to 30-minute educational tour. After that we provide everyone with a refreshing glass of our farm-grown lavender lemonade. The remaining time is yours to enjoy the property, explore with your group, take photographs or plan your own outdoor activities.

We have a standard visit schedule that works well for most groups, but we're happy to be flexible!

Make It Your Own

Would you like to spend more time on the farm? Is your class studying something specific, such as pollination, ecosystems, soil science, plant life cycles or sustainable farming?

Contact us before booking. We'll do our best to adjust the visit to suit your group's interests and learning goals.
