Self-Guided Taste of the Vineyard Tour September Tasting

Four wine samples, Vineyard map & grape tasting included

Explore Bonnieheath Estate at your own pace with our self-guided Taste of the Vineyard experience. You’ll receive four 1-ounce samples of our featured wines, along with a vineyard map and tasting descriptions to guide your walk.

Follow the vineyard route to discover where your wine was grown, taste the grapes directly from the vine, and enjoy the unique opportunity to compare the early flavours of the fruit with a past year’s vintage, all while walking through one of Norfolk County’s most scenic vineyards.

We love our grapevines and land, and it shows. Bonnieheath follows a regenerative farming approach, focusing on biodiversity and the health of the soil microbiome. We don’t rely on pesticides, and instead we use compost teas and beneficial microbes to support the vines naturally. That’s why our grapes are delicious to eat (just watch for the seeds!).

Optional upgrades:
Choose our Premium version to include a Bonnieheath tasting glass to take home and selected snack sized pairing for each sample. These snacks and food pairings enhance the experience as you walk.

If you want an even more immersive hosted tour, considered our Guided Taste of the Vinyeard Tour - it’s a beautiful experience either way, and a great way to learn how Bonnieheath grapes become Bonnieheath wine.

Disappointed

We booked the $25 per person Self-Guided Winery Tour as part of my birthday celebration and, unfortunately, left feeling disappointed with the experience.

When we arrived, we were provided with a flight of wines ( 4 oz total per person) and told to take a photo of the map to wander the grounds. As we walked through the property, we were surprised to find no signage, guidebook, or information about the winemaking process or the lavender farm itself. Aside from the short tasting notes on the wines, there was little to make the experience feel like a “tour” or something interactive.

What added to our confusion was discovering afterward that a standard wine flight is $15. We weren’t able to understand what the extra $10 per person for the “tour” was meant to include, since the experience appeared to be the same. When I asked the staff member on site, she simply mentioned that the $25 option was “more interactive,” though there wasn’t anything additional offered to support that.

We had driven two hours round trip to visit and were excited to learn more about both the wine and lavender, but we felt let down. In total, we paid $56 for two people to enjoy a small flight of wine each, with no added educational or interactive elements as suggested by the tour description. While we appreciate the beauty of your grounds, the overall value did not match what was advertised.

I’m sharing this feedback in hopes it can help improve the experience for future visitors. If we had known ahead of time what the “tour” entailed, we likely would have opted for the $15 wine flight or a glass of wine instead.

Thank you for taking the time to hear my feedback, and I hope it helps in refining what’s offered going forward.
